This figure shows an algorithm/data flow diagram for the Shark Fin neural oscillator. Note the proportional controllers used in each of the two states. Recall that, when state transitions are made, the target values (either or ) are multiplied by the weights that connect the states. That is, the current will be multiplied by when control moves from the Inhibitor state to the Exciter state and vice versa. This is the mechanism in which a dissipating or increasing waveform is created.
