Real Life Applications of Fuzzy Logic

Call for Papers

The notion of fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic was introduced by Lotfi A. Zadeh in 1965 through his first paper in the field. Over these forty-six years, interest in the field has grown exponentially bringing some new theoretical advances and many practical applications of the fuzzy mathematical tools.

The objective of this special issue is to explore the advances of fuzzy logic in a large number of real life and commercial products in a variety of fields. Although fuzzy logic has got applications in a number of different areas, it is not yet known to the nonfuzzy people how it can be applied in different products which are available in the market. Berkeley Institute of Soft Computing (BISC) is compiling all the applications of the fuzzy logic. It is important that nonfuzzy people know where the fuzzy logic can be used. For nonfuzzy people, the word “Fuzzy” is still fuzzy.

We invite authors to submit original research articles as well as review articles which give insight in the applications where fuzzy logic can be used. It is known that fuzzy logic is used in automobiles but it is very much less known how, where, and in what automobile function fuzzy logic is being used. This issue will give emphasis on the advances which can be made in different areas to emphasize how fuzzy logic is used in a particular application. The issue is expected to include applications from simple products like cameras, air conditioners, and microwave oven to sophisticated applications like Saturn, Nissan, helicopters, bullet trains, and health monitors; the emphasis will be on which camera, which bullet train, which helicopter, and so forth. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Applications of fuzzy logic in automobiles
  • Applications of fuzzy logic in defense and security
  • Applications of fuzzy logic in medicine and biomedical fields
  • Applications of fuzzy logic in internet and computer security
  • Applications of fuzzy logic in consumer electronics
  • Applications of fuzzy logic in decision making (law, business, etc.)

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/afs/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
