Advances in Fuzzy Systems for Image Processing and Pattern Recognition

Call for Papers

During the last years, the state-of-the-art fuzzy image processing and pattern recognition have witnessed significant advances in many applications especially as they interact with and support control systems. At the same time, the theory on which these applications are based has evolved into a cohesive subject as reflected by the scientific literature and commercial success of products based on fuzzy technology. In order to introduce a unified presentation of fuzzy systems for image processing and pattern recognition, we invite authors to submit original research and review articles to highlight the most significant recent developments/advances on these subjects and their applications and other such areas of interest identifying the most recent research directions and to publicize this area to a wider audience. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Fuzzy models and algorithms for image processing and pattern recognition
  • Static and dynamic fuzzy systems for pattern recognition
  • Thresholding detection in fuzzy images
  • Fuzzy edge detection
  • Fuzzy match-based region extraction
  • Fuzzy content-based image retrieval
  • Fuzzy set theory in remote sensing

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/afs/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/afs/ppr/ according to the following timetable:
