Information Geometry: From Black Holes to Condensed Matter Systems

Call for Papers

Information geometry has emerged as an exciting area of research, encompassing widely different areas of high energy and condensed matter physics. Our improved knowledge and understanding of information geometry has led to novel tools to characterize different phases of matter, both at the macroscopic and microscopic levels. A unified geometric description of phase transitions and phase coexistence via geometry suggests a deep connection between the properties of matter at different energy scales, from black holes to quantum mechanical systems.

We invite researchers to contribute original work as well as review articles that will further our understanding of the underlying geometry of phase structures and phase transitions. We are particularly interested in articles that explore geometric relations that unify concepts in physics at different scales. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Information geometry in black hole thermodynamics
  • Information geometry in quantum phase transition
  • Geometric descriptions of fluid dynamics
  • Information geometry in statistical physics
  • Geometric notions in statistical models
