Design, Manufacturing, and Test of Composite Materials Pressure Vessels and Pipes

Call for Papers

Composite materials are more and more used in pressure vessels and piping. Recent challenges include high pressure vessels of different types of classes. Knowledge and understanding of the interaction of different parameters (material, processing, application, etc.) involved imply new design methodologies catering for the entire life of the product, including short-term validation procedures.

This special issue focuses on the recent advances in structural integrity assessment. We invite investigators to contribute to this special issue with original research papers as well as review papers on long-term design methods, manufacturing modeling, and applications to real life situations. We are particularly interested in papers describing the new structural developments and new processing achievements, as well as short test methodologies which will ensure a safe life for the product. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Recent advances in materials and manufacturing processes
  • Failure criteria
  • Design methodologies
  • Structural integrity monitoring
  • Long-term properties and residual life prediction
  • Damage modeling
  • Micromechanical modeling
  • Process modeling
  • Leak-before-break or break-exclusion strategies
  • Codes and standards

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ame/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ame/decom/ according to the following timetable:
