Numerical Simulation of Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer Processes 2014

Call for Papers

Fluid flow and heat transfer are ubiquitous in nature and engineering. Many aspects in industrial operations and daily life are closely related to fluid flow and heat transfer processes. Along with the development of computer industry and the advancement of numerical methods, solid foundation in both hardware and software has been established to study the processes by using numerical simulation methods, which play important roles in the ways of extending research topics, reducing research costs, discovering new phenomena, developing new technologies, and so forth.

This special issue focuses on the latest advancements in computational fluid flow and heat transfer. We invite investigators to contribute to this special issue with original research articles as well as review articles on computational methods for fluid flow and heat transfer as well as their applications to solve engineering problems. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • New numerical methods of fluid flow and heat transfer
  • Mesh generation technology
  • Meshless methods
  • High-performance computation
  • Turbulence and its modeling
  • Turbulent drag reduction
  • Single phase/multiphase flows and heat transfer
  • Micro-/nanoflows and heat transfer
  • Fluid-structure interactions
  • Non-Newtonian flows and heat transfer
  • Convective heat transfer
  • Verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification of software
  • Multiscale simulations
  • Flows influenced by external forces (gravitational, rotational, magnetic, and thermocapillary forces)
  • Compressible flows
