Advances in Finite Element Analysis for Computational Mechanics
Call for Papers
Although originally developed for stress analysis in complex airframe structures, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is currently applicable to the broad field of continuum mechanics and many other disciplines. FEA is receiving much attention in academia and industries because of its diversity, flexibility, and ability to provide approximated numerical solutions to a wide range of engineering applications. Recent advances in FEA have led to the development of new elements, solvers, meshing techniques, and tools and to the understanding of many physical problems. Nowadays with the advances of computer technology, FEA is widely used by scientists and becomes very popular in engineering communities.
We invite researchers to submit original research articles and review articles that deal with the application of advanced FEA to any discipline, such as structural engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, and so forth. Contributions on fundamental researches as well as industrial applications are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Stress analysis
- Heat transfer analysis
- Vibration and dynamic analysis
- Harmonic and transient analysis
- Electromagnetic analysis
- Acoustic analysis
- Computational fluid dynamics
- Computational fracture mechanics
- Cyclic loading
- Multiscale modelling
- Extended finite element method (XFEM)
- Contact problems and wear
- Coupled field analysis
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ame/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ame/finel/ according to the following timetable:
| Manuscript Due | Friday, 2 August 2013 |
| First Round of Reviews | Friday, 25 October 2013 |
| Publication Date | Friday, 20 December 2013 |
