Biomaterials: Advances and Applications
Description
Biomaterials and their applications represent a fast growing field of research. The importance and feasibility of these materials appear in their potential use in various branches of medicine, for restoration and replacement of damaged living tissues. Recent techniques have introduced new horizons to understand the structure of biomaterials, which is used to improve the compatibility, bioactivity, and mechanical properties of these types of material.
Theoretical bases could also be used in ab initio and molecular dynamics simulation studies to elucidate the correlation between structure and bioresponse of such materials.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate and expand understanding of the interaction of biomaterials with living systems, correlation between structure and properties, and the applicability in various fields. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Bioactive glasses and glass ceramics
- Polymeric materials
- Composites
- Bioactive alloys
- Materials for tissue engineering scaffolds
- Functional biomaterials
- Nanoparticles-based materials
- Molecular dynamics simulations
- Synthesis and characterization
- Medical and dental applications
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/amse/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/amse/baa/ according to the following timetable:
