Theory of Chemical Reaction Dynamics
Call for Papers
Although the theory of chemical reaction dynamics is one old subject of advanced quantum mechanics, its practical implementations are still challenging. Dynamics of elementary chemical reaction processes with up to six atoms can be carried out using rigorous quantum mechanical theory. Beyond six-atom systems, various approximations including semiclassical, mixed quantum classical, and reduced-dimensional methods have to be applied. Recently, a variety of advanced approaches have been developed to accurately describe polyatomic reactions.
This special issue will focus on the development and applications of chemical reaction theory which aims to accurate calculations of various reaction processes of polyatomic systems. This special issue will become an international forum for researchers to summarize the most recent developments and ideas in this field. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Chemical reaction dynamics: historical perspective
- Quantum mechanical theory
- Semiclassical theory
- Adiabatic processes
- Nonadiabatic processes
- Various dynamical processes involving reactions
- Applications and simulations
- Future strategies
