The ventral pancreatic anlage fuses side by side with the dorsal anlage. (b) Choledochal cysts can occur when the left ventral anlage persists and disturbs normal bile duct recanalization. (c) Non dilation-type APBJ occurs when the ventral anlage fuses with the dorsal anlage in an oblique position.
