Ratio of sulfate and carboxyl groups deduced from the FITR spectra of ulvan-containing fractions. Signals observed at 1256 and 1641 cm-1 are caused by the stretching vibration of the S=O of sulfated rhamnose and of the C=O of uronic acid, respectively.
