Functional Differences between the N-Terminal Domains of Mouse and Human Myosin Binding Protein-C

Figure 2

Effects of mC0C1 and hC0C1 on steady state force and rate of tension redevelopment ( 𝑘 t r ) in permeabilized rat trabeculae. (a) Preincubation of trabeculae with 80  𝜇 M mC0C1 or hC0C1 did not affect resting force at pCa 9.0 or maximal Ca2+ activated force at pCa 4.5. However, hC0C1 increased force (b) and 𝑘 t r (c) at intermediate [Ca2+] (pCa 5.3) with effects significant at 50  𝜇 M. mC0C1 increased force at 50  𝜇 M but did not significantly increase 𝑘 t r . Data are mean ± SEM ( 𝑛 = 4 for hC0C1 and 𝑛 = 3 for mC0C1). Asterisks denote significant differences in compared values obtained prior to protein addition ( 𝑃 < . 0 5 ).
