PPARs contain the following functional regions: a N-terminal domain with AF-1 domain (ligand-independent activation domain), a DNA binding domain (DBD) with two zinc fingers, a hinge region, and a C-terminal ligand binding domain (LBD) and AF-2 domain (ligand-dependent activation domain).
