Bright field (a,b) and dark field (c) stereophotomicrographs of empty (a) and IB3-1 containing (b,c) alginate microbeads. Microbeads were produced by the monojet air-driven device. Alginate microbeads were prepared using the experimental parameters reported in Table 1 (batch #15a, b, c).
