Values of the amounts of iNOS-positive cells in the ischemic cortex (CT) for the sham-operated rats (first column), 37°C saline-treated FPI-treated rats (second column), and 4°C saline-treated-FPI-treated rats (third column). The isotonic sodium chloride solutions were administered via the jugular vein 3 minutes after the onset of FPI. The FPI-injured rats were killed on day 3 after surgery.
