Intravesical Dimethyl Sulfoxide Inhibits Acute and Chronic Bladder Inflammation in Transgenic Experimental Autoimmune Cystitis Models

DMSO inhibits effector T cell growth in vitro. OT-I splenocytes were prepared and incubated with indicated concentrations of DMSO (ranging 1.563%–75%) for 24 hours. MTT assay was then used to assess cell viability. Percent of cell growth inhibition was calculated and presented as mean ± standard deviation of 5 duplicate wells referring to the PBS-treated wells (100% growth). *= and **= (compared to the PBS-treated cells). The results are representative of two separate experiments.
