Multipotency of adult bone marrow NCSC. NCSC clones were subjected to differentiating protocols and were shown to be able to differentiate into adipocytes (Oil Red O labeling), melanocytes (L-DOPA labeling), smooth muscles (SMA-labeling), and osteocytes (alkaline phosphatase activity). Moreover, when co-cultured with cerebellar granule neurons, we were able to differentiate NCSC clones into neurons (beta-III tubulin labeling by Tuj1 monoclonal antibody) or glial cells (GFAP labeling).
