Corelease of t-PA with norepinephrine from catecholaminergic cells. PC12 cells (a) or bovine adrenal chromaffin cells (b) were labeled with [3H]-norepinephrine and incubated at 37°C for 30 min in either the absence or presence of 60 μM nicotine, 55 mM KCl, or 2 mM BaCl2. The release buffer was aspirated, cells were harvested and lysed, and the release of t-PA antigen (open bars) and [3H]-norepinephrine (filled bars) was determined.
