Scolex-associated duodenal samples from tamoxifen-treated (c), vehicle-treated (b), and control (a) hamsters were stained with hematoxylin-eosin. The inflammatory infiltrate degree was considered as the number of polymorphonuclear leukocytes per ten microvilli. No significant differences in the inflammatory level of the intestinal mucosa were observed among experimental groups.
