Natural Killer Dendritic Cells Enhance Immune Responses Elicited by α-Galactosylceramide-Stimulated Natural Killer T Cells

NKDCs mediate the anti-metastatic effect following α-GC stimulation. B16 tumor cells (1 × 105/mouse) and 1.5 × 106 DCs (either total DCs or NKDC-depleted DCs) from WT mice were i.v. transferred to DT-treated CD11c-DTR Tg mice. One hour later, α-GC was administered i.p. into both groups of mice. On day 14 after injection, mice were sacrificed, and the number of metastatic tumor nodules in the lung was counted.
