Dose- and Time-Dependent Apoptosis Induced by Avian H9N2 Influenza Virus in Human Cells

Caspase-8 and cytochrome c expression in HeLa, HepG2, and A549 cells following infection with H9N2 influenza virus at MOI 2.0 was assessed by Western blotting. Caspase-8 initiated caspase activation cascade in infected-A549 cells and triggered cytochrome c release through apoptosis via mitochondrial pathway by 24 hpi. 𝛽-actin was used as a control.
