Phase I: beginning of the implant procedure, where the solubilization of the HAP surface starts. Phase II: continuation of the solubilization of the HAP surface (tricalcium phosphate, Ca3(PO4)2: TCP). Phase III: achievement of equilibrium between physiological solutions and the modified surface of HAP (dicalcium phosphate dehydrate (brushite), CaHPO4·2H2O: DCPD).
