Transfection efficiency of mRNA CAT after treatment with RNase. In this experiment, the mRNA CAT was added to the surfactant mixture prior to the vesicle formation. This result strongly suggests that the RNA is internalized within the vesicle aqueous space and is thus protected by the nucleolytic attack.
