CpG and Interleukin-15 Synergize to Enhance IFN-γ Production by Activated CD8+ T Cells

Figure 2

The synergistic effects of IL-15 and CpG enhance T. cruzi-specific IFN- production by CD8+ T cells. C57BL/6 mice were infected with Trypanosoma cruzi. On day 9 postinfection, mice were euthanized and spleens harvested. (a) Splenocytes were cultured for 72 hours with Tskb20 peptide (1 ng/mL) to induce an antigen-specific CD8+ T cell response. Culture supernatants were tested by ELISA to determine the levels of IFN- production. (b) Purified CD8+ T cells were cultured in the presence of IL-15, CpG, or IL-15+CpG for 72 hours. Culture supernatants were tested by ELISA for IFN- . ** ; * ; NS: not significant. Results are representative of at least three independent experiments with two mice per group and are expressed as .
