Purification and Biochemical Characterization of Three Myotoxins from Bothrops mattogrossensis Snake Venom with Toxicity against Leishmania and Tumor Cells

Table 1

Activities induced by B. mattogrossensis snake venom.

EffectaActivity

Phospholipase activityb (U/mg)1,864.05
Proteolytic activityc (U/10  g)
Hemorrhagic halod (cm2)
Coagulation activitye (MCD, g)0.325

All experiments were carried out in triplicate. Activity using NOB stained substrate. One enzymatic unit (U) was defined as the quantity of enzyme needed to increase the absorbance by 0.05 UA/440 nm. Values 3 h after incubation with crude venom of B. mattogrossensis (50  g). MCD: the minimum coagulation dose was the dose capable of coagulating 200  L of citrated plasma in less than a minute.
