SEM analysis of the substrate surfaces after three days of culture. Cells were spreading over all the substrate surfaces, but the amount of cells seemed to be higher on nontreated than SBF-treated substrates. Small aggregates of CaP mineral were present throughout the C5 surfaces (white dots), whereas C14 substrates were covered by thick mineral layer. Scale bar = 400 μm.
