Hypoxia-Pretreated Human MSCs Attenuate Acute Kidney Injury through Enhanced Angiogenic and Antioxidative Capacities

Figure 2

Effects of hypoxia preconditioning on the angiogenic and antioxidative capacities of MSCs in vitro and in kidney. (a) RT-PCR demonstrated that the transcription of angiogenic genes in MSCs was increased when cultured in hypoxia, while Elisa assay obtained consistent results from protein level; (b) DHE staining showed that hypoMSCs exhibited higher antioxidative activity than control MSCs after transplantation in I/R kidney; (c) angiogenic effects in I/R kidney by hypoMSCs. compared with normaxia or PBS group; compared with control MSCs. HypoMSC indicates hypoxia-preconditioned MSCs. Bar = 50 μm.
