Deregulation of ox-LDL receptor and apoptosis-associated molecules in EAhy926 cells by ox-LDL treatment. (a) and (b) ox-LDL significantly promoted the expression of LOX-1, the ox-LDL receptor on EAhy926 cells, and the release of Cyt c and downregulated cIAP-1 expression, an apoptosis inhibiting protein. Western blot assay was conducted to identify the protein level of the three molecules, compared to β-actin. (c) Significant upregulation of caspase 3 activity in EAhy926 cells after treatment of 50 μg/mL ox-LDL. All results were got from triplicate independent experiments.
