Acute Toxicity Study of Zerumbone-Loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carrier on BALB/c Mice Model

Figure 2

(a) Liver of female BALB/c mice treated orally with (A) water (control), (B) olive oil (vehicle), ((C) and (D)) zerumbone (ZER) at concentrations 100 and 200 mg/kg, ((E) and (F)) blank nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) at concentrations 100 and 200 mg/kg, and ((G) and (H)) zerumbone-loaded NLC at concentrations 100 and 200 mg/kg for 14 days. No sign of toxicity was observed in the liver of these mice (400x magnification). (b) Liver of male BALB/c mice treated orally with (A) water (control), (B) olive oil (vehicle), ((C) and (D)) zerumbone (ZER) at concentrations 100 and 200 mg/kg, ((E) and (F)) blank nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) at concentrations 100 and 200 mg/kg, and ((G) and (H)) zerumbone-loaded NLC at concentrations 100 and 200 mg/kg for 14 days. No sign of toxicity was observed in the liver of these mice (400x magnification).
