Sequences encoding the peptide stretch WRKYGQK were found by the BLAST programs tblastn and blastp programs in genomic and EST databases. Gaps (dots) have been inserted for optimal alignment. Residues that are highly conserved within each of the major groups are in black and potential zinc ligands are highlighted in red boxes, and the different amino acid residues are highlighted in green boxes.
