The staining is moderately intense in the perisinusoidal region of periportal hepatocytes and very marked in sinusoidal cells scattered throughout the lobule, likely Kupffer cells, control (a), and much more appreciable in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes in the periportal and midzone regions in MCD diet, 1 week (b), or in the regions surrounding lipid droplets in steatotic hepatocytes, MCD diet, 2 weeks (c).
