Effect of incubation time of CD on cholesterol content and cell viability in B1647 cells. (a) Cells were incubated with [3H]-cholesterol (0.5 μCi/mL) in cell culture medium for 16 h at 37°C, washed, resuspended in PBS, and treated with 5 mM CD for different time periods (0–30 min). Cell suspensions were washed with PBS and then [3H]-cholesterol content was estimated by liquid scintillation counting. (b) The viability of the cells treated at different CD concentrations (5–10 mM) for 20 min was evaluated by Trypan Blue exclusion test as described in Section 2. Results are expressed as means ± SD of three independent experiments, each performed in triplicate. ** : significantly different from control cells; *** : significantly different from control cells.
