The results of MTT assays and GAG synthesis in articular chondrocytes from female and male rabbits following incubation with 17β-estradiol or testosterone for 3 days. The experiments were conducted in triplicate, and a mean ± standard deviation was expressed. Data were normalized to the control values, which were set at 1.0 (^∗𝑃<0.05, ^∗∗𝑃<0.001).
