Effect of compounds 1 and 2 on HSV-1 virus yield reduction. (a) PC-12, (b) Neuro-2a, and (c) SH-SY5Y cells were infected with HSV-1 KOS (black bars) and HSV-1 Cgal (grey bars) and incubated for 1 h at 37°C. Then, cells were covered with DMEM/F12 2% or media containing 10 μM of compound 1 and 5 μM of compound 2. After 24 h supernatants were harvested and viral titres were determined by plaque assay. Bars show average of two replicates ± SD. , with respect to untreated infected cells.
