Overview of the experimental setup. Chorioamnionitis was induced by intra-amniotic injections of LPS 2 days (GA = 123 d, ) and 14 days (GA = 111 d, ) before delivery at GA 125 d (normal GA = 150 d). For the control group (), saline injections were given 2 days or 2 weeks before delivery as well.
