Dose Response of Endotoxin on Hepatocyte and Muscle Mitochondrial Respiration In Vitro

Table 2

Time course of 1 g/mL LPS on oxygen consumption and cell viability of isolated and permeabilized human hepatocytes. 8 hours of incubation with 1 g/mL LPS reduces complex II-dependent respiration compared to control (). For cellular oxygen consumption, all values are expressed as pmol O2/(sec ∗ Mill. Cells). A Wilcoxon test for non-parametric paired data was used to compare the control group with the LPS group at each time point. = 8 for 4 and 16 hours, = 7 for 8 hours in LPS treated and control cells.
