Curcumin Sensitizes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells to Radiation via Suppression of Radiation-Induced NF-κB Activity

Figure 2

Effects of curcumin on cell viability, NF-κB activation, and expressions of NF-κB downstream effector proteins in Huh7/NF-κB-luc2 cells. (a) Cells were treated with different concentration (0–50 μM) of curcumin for 24 h. Cell viability was evaluated with MTT assay. compared with that of the control. (b) Cells were treated with 30 μM curcumin for 0, 12, and 24 h. NF-κB activation was assayed by bioluminescent imaging. compared with control group. (c) Cells were treated with 30 μM curcumin for 0, 12, and 24 h. Expressions of NF-κB downstream effector proteins (i.e., VEGF, MMP-9, XIAP, BCL-2, and Cyclin-D1) assayed with Western blot are decreased with increase in treatment time.
