Complement-mediated bactericidal activity. Mice were orally inoculated with C. rodentium CFU and were bled at 14 days after inoculation. Both mice sera had bactericidal activity; C57-CD40L^−/− mice sera had significantly lower bactericidal activity compared with wild type (WT) mice sera. Data for bactericidal activity are presented as medians and data was analysed by Mann-Whitney -test.
