Significance of Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin Level-to-Serum Creatinine Ratio for Assessing Severity of Inflammation in Patients with Renal Dysfunction

An ROC curve analysis shows the diagnostic ability of the NGAL/sCr ratio and hsCRP to detect an increase of NLR > 4.5 in patients with renal dysfunction. The AUC of the NGAL/sCr ratio is significantly larger than that of hsCRP [0.729 (95% CI, 0.594–0.865) versus 0.665 (95% CI, 0.517–0.815), ].
