Role of pH in manganese oxidation. K medium that was supplied with or without 50 mg·L−1 Mn(II) at different pH values (7.5–9.0) was maintained at 30°C and under constant stirring (150 min−1) for seven days. The samples were collected, and 0.04% LBB reagent was added to them. Manganese oxidation was indicated by the sample color turning blue.
