Indirect Manganese Removal by Stenotrophomonas sp. and Lysinibacillus sp. Isolated from Brazilian Mine Water

Figure 6

Cell-free filtrate Mn(II) oxidation. The experiments were conducted at 37°C. For certain experiments, 100 μg/mL protease was added to the filtrate to examine the role of proteins in Mn(II) oxidation. The samples were collected periodically, and manganese removal was measured by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. The presence of manganese oxides was monitored by the addition of LBB to the samples.
