HSP27 attenuated the effect of Hcy on the expression of apoptosis regulators. Cells were treated with 10 mM Hcy for 24 h or were not treated. (a) and (b) Whole-cell extracts were prepared and probed for Bcl-2, Bax, caspase-3, and PARP by western blot analysis and quantified by the Gel-Pro Analyzer software. (c) The protein levels were normalized relative to those of β-actin, which was used as a loading control. Data are expressed as mean ± SD of three independent experiments. Columns not sharing the same superscript letter differ significantly: compared with the Neo+Hcy group; compared with the Neo group.
