The chondrogenesis induction by the microgels was evaluated by Safranin O staining. Two weeks after chondrogenic induction, Safranin O staining was done on the cell/microgel constructs to detect sulfated glycosaminoglycans (sGAG) performance. Bar scale = 500 μm (upper) or 200 μm (lower).
