Genetic Advances in Endocrinology

Call for Papers

Endocrine disorders are often quite complex, involving a mixed picture of hyposecretion and/or hypersecretion because of the feedback mechanisms involved in the endocrine systems. The area belongs to one of those which has benefited from genetic and genomic research during the last decade. New technologies have provided a rapid increase in knowledge and a better understanding of each condition. Genetic information has led endocrinologists and researchers in this area to characterize and precisely establish the diagnosis and to provide different perspectives for prevention, management, and prognosis of many clinical conditions.

We invite investigators to submit original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the genetics of endocrine disorders, the development of strategies to treat these conditions, and the evaluation of outcomes. We are particularly interested in articles describing new modalities for clinical characterization; advances in molecular genetics and molecular diagnostics; new insights using animal models; current concepts in treatments using small molecules, siRNA, and stem cells. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Advances in the genetics of hormone disorders, including diabetes and insulin
  • Genetics of disorders of sex development
  • Advances in the genetics of adrenal diseases
  • Genetics of thyroid disorders
  • Genetics of fertility disorders
  • Latest technologies for clinical evaluation

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/bmri/endocrinology/docrin/ according to the following timetable:
