Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management

Call for Papers

Despite recent advances in analgesia delivery techniques and the availability of new analgesic agents, postoperative pain is still a major concern affecting a considerable number of patients. There are many advantages of regional anesthesia compared to general anesthesia as this approach is reported to be associated with less postoperative pain and adverse effects as well as shorter hospital stay. Several studies have also demonstrated that regional techniques reduce multisystem comorbidity and mortality following major surgery in high risk patients.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to advance the understanding and clinical application of regional techniques for surgical anesthesia and postoperative analgesia. We are particularly interested in all forms of research pertaining to new modalities for intraoperative regional techniques and measuring outcomes from treatment trials. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Acute pain management
  • Post operative pain management
  • Regional anesthesia
  • Regional anesthesia techniques for postoperative pain control
  • Complications of regional anesthesia
  • Acute neuropathic pain
  • Multimodal analgesia
  • Complications of pain management
  • Chronic pain
  • Interventional pain management
