Cutaneous Oncology: From Research to Diagnosis and Management
Description
Within the last century the risk to develop skin cancer has dramatically increased. Even though major improvements in both diagnostics and treatment have been achieved over the last decade, there is a remaining need for an improved understanding of the underlying pathophysiology of both melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer.
We invite investigators to contribute original research as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the pathophysiology underlying skin cancer. We are interested in articles that explore aspects of the etiology and molecular mechanisms of skin cancer in humans and animal models, as well as clinical reports and studies investigating new treatment options.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Immunology and tolerance
- Genetics and racial differences
- Photobiology and UV protection
- Novel diagnostic approaches including biomarkers, serology, and imaging modalities
- Therapy related complications and life quality
- Surgery and postoperative management
- Chemotherapeutics, biologicals, and immunotherapies
