Microbial Enzymes and Their Applications in Industries and Medicine 2016

Description

Enzymes are considered as potential biocatalysts for a large number of reactions. Particularly, the microbial enzymes have widespread uses in industries and medicine. The microbial enzymes are also more active and stable than plant and animal enzymes. In addition, the microorganisms represent an alternative source of enzymes because they can be cultured in large quantities in a short time by fermentation and owing to their biochemical diversity and their susceptibility to gene manipulation. Recently, many novel enzymes are isolated mainly from extremophiles and are likely to mimic some of the unnatural product of the enzymes that are desirable for further commercial applications. In demand of the enzymes, industries are looking for new microbial strains to produce the enzymes to fulfill the requirements.

Mainly this special issue focuses on the production and application oriented in industry and medical field. We invite the researchers to contribute with original articles as well as reviews.
