Challenges in Gynecological Cancer: Biology, Diagnosis, Surgical, and Medical Treatment

Description

The relevant technological advances achieved in the last decade allowed improving our knowledge in the field of gynaecologic oncology. Furthermore, novel diagnostic tools, more effective medical treatments, and highly innovative minimally invasive surgical approaches have been successfully introduced in the routine clinical management. However, despite these relevant achievements, the therapeutic approach to gynaecological cancers remains a challenging issue with high mortality and morbidity rates.

We invite investigators to provide original research articles as well as review articles that will contribute to improve our knowledge of the biological mechanisms sustaining the development of gynaecological malignancies. Furthermore, we are particularly interested in articles describing novel biomarker, and diagnostic tools able to ensure early disease detection and prediction of response to medical treatments. Finally, we strongly encourage providing contributions addressing the major surgical and medical issues in gynaecological oncology, with a special emphasis on the role of target-based agents and minimally invasive surgical approaches.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Molecular factors involved in the development of chemo/radio-resistant disease
  • Novel biomarkers and diagnostic tools for early detection of gynaecological cancer
  • Predictive factors of response to medical treatments
  • Role of antiangiogenic agents in gynaecological malignancies and biological predictors of response to treatment
  • Minimally invasive surgical approaches for the management of gynaecological cancers
