Pharmacogenomics in Personalized Medicine and Drug Metabolism

Description

With the accomplishment of human genome sequencing, the applications of genomic information have increased explosively. Genome sequencing (next–generation sequencing) and bioinformatics analysis have been widely used in the identification of disease markers. The utility of genomic techniques and high–throughput systems provides a better understanding of molecular mechanisms of human disease and individual response to drugs. Hence, this special issue aims to cover studies that use genomics tools to evaluate disease severity and drug toxicity. We invite investigators to contribute research articles or review articles in these areas. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Genomics variants and human diseases
  • Genetic polymorphism and complex disorders
  • Translational genomics in human health
  • Bioinformatics and systems biology for disease prediction
  • Disease gene finding based on biology pathways and networks
  • Genomics analysis for the prediction of drug metabolism, side effects, and toxicity
  • Personalized medicine in cancer therapy, cardiovascular diseases, and autoimmune diseases

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/bmri/pharmacology/pmdm/ according to the following timetable:
