Effect of Plant Polyphenols on Adipokine Secretion from Human SGBS Adipocytes

Polyphenols quercetin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), and resveratrol do not affect leptin (a) and adiponectin (b) secretion by human mature SGBS adipocytes. Cells were cultured in medium and incubated with 10 or 25 μM of quercetin, EGCG, and resveratrol for 24 and 48 hours. Leptin and adiponectin were determined in the cell supernatant by commercially available methods. Values represent the mean ± SD.
